COOCVE (pronounced COOK-VEE) is a volunteer-run nonprofit supporting CVE’s 253 associations and 8,508 owners. We provide education, guidance, and resources to help Boards and Associations succeed. COOCVE owns no real property and has no governing or enforcement authority over any association, fully respecting each association’s independence.
Every association is a member of COOCVE. Annual membership dues, which support its operations are funded by Master Management and CenClub. Owners are represented by elected COOCVE Directors, with the number of directors based on the number of condominium units in each association building. 1 Director for 16–24 units, 3 for 56–64, 4 for 72–80, and 5 for 96 units. For a total of 414 COOCVE Directors.
Associations must submit the names of their COOCVE Directors to COOCVE within 30 days of their annual meeting. Directors on record at the end of November form the voting body for the CVE elections held each January.
COOCVE is responsible for overseeing and serving as the voting body for the Annual CVE Elections of the Master Management Board of Directors, the CenClub Board of Directors, and the COOCVE Officers. Additionally, COOCVE is the sole shareholder of The Reporter.
The Reporter is proud to serve Century Village East as its official newspaper. CVE Reporter, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of COOCVE, which holds full ownership and governance responsibility. Although The Reporter operates with full editorial independence, it is not a standalone company. It is a separate legal entity whose ownership and governance are overseen by COOCVE in accordance with its legal structure. COOCVE exercises its shareholder rights and governance duties through its Executive Committee, providing oversight while respecting The Reporter’s editorial autonomy.

The 21 Areas are essential in representing and coordinating our 253 individually managed Associations, ensuring effective communication, decision-making, and collaboration. Grouping associations into Areas strengthens governance, streamlines problem-solving, and enhances our collective voice, helping to maintain a well-managed, thriving community.
COOCVE Directors play a vital governance role by representing owners and a complementary role in supporting Association Boards across our community. Recognizing the importance of strong representation, over 80% of associations elect or appoint their Board Members to also serve as COOCVE Directors. This dual role ensures seamless communication, informed decision-making, and a unified voice on broader community matters. By bridging individual associations with COOCVE, these Directors help strengthen governance, share valuable insights, and contribute to the overall well-being of our community.
